We are looking to recruit a Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager who wants to develop their skills further and realise the chance to run their own pub with a company committed to developing their own.

The George is a traditionally styled pub located just off the A2 on the coast bound carriageway towards Rochester and the Channel Tunnel at Singlewell.

The pub lies just two miles from the historic town of Gravesend and nine miles from Diggerland. A superb carvery is served in the 92 cover restaurant every day and our meals can be enhanced by a choice glass of wine or a drink from the well stocked bar.

Alternatively our customers may prefer a lighter option from the bar menu which is provided in the bar area. There is a Premier Inn next door so some early mornings will be needed (Sorry).

Our carvery offers you an excellent choice of daily roasts, with choices of three types of potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables.

We are proud of the fact we use only the best quality British meats on the Carvery and the mains on the menu are mostly cooked fresh to order.

As Deputy Manager / Assistant manager we will give you a full induction to our company practices and will commit to a complete on going training programme both on the job & at one of our centres of excellence.

Experience of managing / supervising a team is key. You will be committed to delivering a fantastic customer experience, through superb standards of service whilst ensuring the smooth running of the business at all times.

As Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager you will play a huge role in the development of the team you work within and you will be empowered to assist the General Manager in the development of the business going forward.

As Deputy / Assistant Manager you will be tasked with achieving your own goals and targets as part of your career development. You will be a huge team player working towards collective goals and targets.

The role will be fast paced and your leadership skills, will come to the forefront as you will be required to multi task whilst ensuring the standards of service and quality of food are never compromised.

You will be expected after full training to be able to assist the GM in the following areas – recruitment & training, stock management, organise & manage Events, cash handling, staff rota’s and full management of the business in the GM’s absence.

We do offer live in accommodation if needed with this role.
