I have been single for quite some time now and its beginning to get me down.The more I read these ads the more I despair. Most women (not all) who place ads on here seem to have only two criteria for their ideal man.
1. Must be solvent (for 'solvent' read the richer the better) and
2. Must be good looking.
How sad.
What about the more impostant aspects of a good relationship such as honesty, loyalty, friendship, companionship and of course, love.
Do these virtues carry no weight anymore? Am I just being old fashioned?
Is it really more important to be rich with a trophy boyfriend than it is to be happy?
If all you want is a bronzed adonis to hang off your arm and show off to your mates then I wish you good luck but I feel that shallowness like that can only ever lead to heartbreak.
Guys like that don't need to advertise on Gumtree.
So here I am, not rich, not good looking, not rippling with fake tanned muscles.
But like everyone I do have my dreams and I refuse to give up on them.
I am in my 40s, a bit of a loner and I don't suffer fools gladly. I still harbor dreams of having my own family but I am not so naive that I don't realise that this might be an unlikely wish at my age.
I am intelligent genuine chap and a good listener.
I am not a pub goer but I do enjoy the theatre and the odd meal out. I am a bit of a home bird and not a big drinker
I don't care how much money you have or haven't got. I don't care if you are a single mum. I am attracted to slimmer women but I will never sway never to anything. So if you are open minded enough and like me fed up of being lonely and if I sound like your sort of chap then why not say hello.
