We are renovating a traditional country inn located in a beautiful, small village near Tunbridge Wells, and need a passionate and competent head chef to breath some life into the kitchen and join our team.

This established inn has two sections one being the bar areas (25-30), the other seated restaurant areas (50-60) with waiter service. There is also a delightful patio and garden, with a further 120 covers, very busy in good weather. The inn lies in a small, ancient village steeped in history, alongside a castle, in exceptionally beautiful countryside. The business is a destination in itself, and caters for both local and London diners and visitors, a healthy number of tourists and followers of country pursuits. It also caters for community functions and large walking groups.

The ideal candidate will know about the seasons, care about the quality of the ingredients and have the culinary skill to create innovative meals for various occasions, whilst running within budget boundaries.

This position would suit a hands-on chef who is able to adapt to their role and work alone during quieter times, with a general assistant to help with kitchen duties. During the busier times you will be supported by a second chef. Your responsibilities will include all the prep and cooking, ordering and rotating stock, assisting the owners with menu planning , including the specials board, while ensuring all legislation is adhered to in relation to Health & Safety along with Hygiene.

In return for your good, solid experience, the starting wage is £25K with a review after 3 months, in line with business and personal performance.
